Your fix plan

What to do first for Ledgerly, based on what this scan found.
  1. Quillstack and Fernpay are recommended ahead of you

    High priority

When buyers ask AI for options in expense management software, Quillstack and Fernpay show up above Ledgerly. Publish honest comparison pages ("Ledgerly vs Quillstack") and a "Quillstack alternatives" page that spell out who should pick Ledgerly and why. Then get Ledgerly into the third-party articles and listings that already mention Quillstack, since that's where AI learns who belongs on the shortlist.

    From your scan

    • Quillstack appeared in 17 answers and outranked you 14 times
    • Fernpay appeared in 17 answers and outranked you 12 times
    • Ottercard appeared in 14 answers and outranked you 12 times
  2. AI mentions Ledgerly more often than it cites ledgerly.example

    Medium priority

Engines that name you are linking to other pages as their sources. Make ledgerly.example the easiest page to quote: a plain-text product page, a pricing page, use-case and comparison pages, and an FAQ that answers the questions buyers ask. Check that robots.txt doesn't block AI crawlers such as OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot and Googlebot, and keep key facts out of images and PDFs.

    From your scan

    • Mentioned in 9 answers, ledgerly.example cited in 2
    • Cited instead: reviewhub.example (12), saasradar.example (6), founderforum.example (5)
  3. Some AI engines don't recognize Ledgerly

    Medium priority

Asked directly about Ledgerly, Perplexity couldn't describe it, while other engines could. Write one plain sentence that says what Ledgerly is and who it's for, then use it everywhere: homepage, about page, LinkedIn, Crunchbase, review and startup directories, and founder bios. Add schema.org Organization markup with sameAs links to those profiles so engines can connect them.

    From your scan

    • Perplexity: "I couldn't find much reliable information about Ledgerly (ledgerly.example). It may be a smaller or newer…"
  4. Claude doesn't mention Ledgerly

    Medium priority

Ledgerly shows up on other engines but not in Claude. Claude often answers from its training data rather than a live search, so it reflects what was published about you over time. Steady third-party coverage (reviews, comparisons, community discussions) is what moves it, and it takes longer than the search-based engines.

    From your scan

    • Claude: mentioned in 0 of 3 answered prompts
    • Mentioned on 4 other AI surfaces
  5. Get covered on the sites AI cites

    Medium priority

These third-party sites are where the engines got their information for expense management software. A listing, review, guest post or spot in a roundup on them is the most direct way into the answers built from them. Start at the top of the list and work down.

    From your scan

    • Top cited sources: reviewhub.example (12), saasradar.example (6), founderforum.example (5), spendreport.example (4), startupstack.example (2)
    • 6 third-party domains cited in this scan
  6. Answer the questions AI searches for

    Worth doing

Before answering, the engines ran their own web searches. These sub-queries show what they were trying to find. If ledgerly.example has no page that answers one of them directly, that's a content gap worth filling with a focused page or FAQ entry.

    From your scan

    • "best expense management software for seed stage startups"
    • "expense management tools for SaaS startups 2026"
    • "Fernpay vs Quillstack"
    • 9 search queries captured in this scan
  7. Re-check monthly and track what moves

    Worth doing

AI answers shift between runs and with every model update, so treat this scan as your baseline. Re-run it about once a month after you ship fixes and compare the numbers. If you'd like a second opinion on which fixes matter most for Ledgerly, book a free strategy call.

Ledgerly at #3 of 5Tone: Positive (heuristic)

answered in 31s

Recommended, in order: 1. Fernpay · 2. Quillstack · 3. Ledgerly · 4. Ottercard · 5. Brimfold

Here's a short ranked list of expense management tools that suit seed-stage SaaS startups:

  1. Fernpay — Best overall: corporate cards, reimbursements and approvals in one place, and it scales well past Series A. (reviewhub.example)
  2. Quillstack — Excellent receipt capture and multi-step approvals; popular with remote teams. (saasradar.example)
  3. Ledgerly — Built for early-stage SaaS teams, with fast setup and a generous free tier. (startupstack.example)
  4. Ottercard — Good if you mainly need virtual cards to control software subscriptions.

If you only need receipts and reimbursements today, start lean and switch once you issue cards to more than a handful of people.
